GENERATE THE PROPOSED 3D MODEL (the old quick and
dirty method)
FIRST OF ALL YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

A .DGN file containing your existing ground and proposed elements, ie.
top of pavement, ditch, cut and fill slopes etc...

A .DGN file that contains your construction limits.

A blank 3D .DGN file for displaying your 3D model.

Copy one of the 3D files listed below from the F:\Resource\Seed
directory to your working directory (name it whatever you want) and get
into it.

Metric_3D.dgn (metric 3D file)
-
English_3D.dgn (english 3D file)
-
An input file for creating your 3D model.
-
Copy the input files listed below from the F:\Resource\Geopak\Inp
directory to your working directory. Edit these input files
to comply with your design criteria.

SS.INP (Spot elevation generator)

PXS3D.INP (Proposed 3D triangle generator)
Open the 3D model file and...
APPLICATIONS > GEOPAK ROAD > CROSS SECTIONS > Process Cross Sections

This brings up the "Process Cross Sections" dialog box. Key
in the name of the "Spot elevation generator Input File" or select the
input file under FILES and press APPLY. When
finished...

Key in the name of the "Proposed 3D triangle generator Input File" or select
the input file under FILES in the "Process Cross Sections" dialog
box and press APPLY.
When the second input file has finished processing...invoke the "Drive
Through" window:
APPLICATIONS > GEOPAK ROAD > 3D TOOLS > DRIVE THROUGH
This brings up the "Geopak Drive Through" window.
Note:
-
To look BACK ON LINE, simply key in a negative TARGET OFFSET.

At last check...this application did not support a vertical slope
as the last proposed cross section element. A partial cross
section resulted.
