Modifying Set File for MicroStation V8 2004 Edition
- Go to Start>Programs>Interplot Utilities>Interplot Organizer or double click the Interplot Organizer shortcut on your desktop.
-
Interplot Organizer opens with a dialog box asking what would you like to do. Select "Cancel"
-
From Interplot Organizer select Edit>Settings Files>Edit...
-
This will open the Select a Settings File dialog box and should default to H:\Appinfo\Iplot\V8_Settings. You should see several .set files listed. Find the set file you would like to modify. In this example we modify the WA8550N_17.set file. Then select "Open"
-
The Edit Settings File dialog box opens. In the right hand pane you should see listed iplot and Common. Highlight iplot and select Edit Section...
-
The Modify Settings dialog box opens next. There are several sections to this so we'll take one at a time. The first is "General". This tab allows you to set such things as Color Table to plot with and the design Script (formerly known as pen table's). There is also an option to "Update plots from design files" this is used by Interplot Organizer. It allows a change to be made in the DGN file and Interplot Organizer will plot the changes automatically.
-
The next section is "Area". This section allows you to select how data is extracted from a DGN file. Currently it's set to look for a shape on level D_Plot_Shape in the master file. Interplot Organizer will create a plot of anything it finds with in a shape on that level.
-
The next tab is "Layout". The instructions on this tab control most of how your plots will turn out.
- The "Paper" section allows you to:
- Define the default paper size.
- It allows you to select the units you want i.e. centimeters, inches, feet, meters and millimeters.
- The "Rotation" section allows you to:
- Set a specific angle.
- Align with the X axis.
- Align with the Y axis.
- The "Size and Scale" section allows you to:
- Maximize by default.
- Specify an X or a Y scale.
- Set a default Scale for the output.
- The "Origin" section allows you to:
- Center the drawing output automatically.
- Specify and X or a Y off-set.
- The "Mirror" Section allows you to:
- Mirror on the X axis.
- Mirror on the Y axis.
- Mirror on both the X and the Y axis.
- None or Do not set.
- Recommend to leave it on "Do not set".
- At this point you can select "OK" and save your set file.
