Back to Staking NotesAPPLICATIONS > GEOPAK ROAD > CROSS SECTIONS > CROSS SECTION REPORTS SEEDING NOTES:
This brings up the XS Report palette. Click User and fill out the Report Header Dialog box. This Report Header information can be saved by clicking on File and selecting the path and file name to be saved. When finished, press Seeding on the XS Report palette.
This brings up the Seeding Report Dialog box as shown below:
- Key in the Job number and Chain.
- If you want notes for the entire chain, highlight the Beg Sta. field and press delete. The application will automatically set this field to the beginning station of the chain. Repeat this for the End Sta. Field. You may also simply key in a desired station range.
- Enter all the appropriate Existing Ground Line element symbology, either manually or by using the Select button, and identifying the elements graphically.
- Enter all the appropriate Proposed Finish Grade element symbology, either manually or by using the Select button, and identifying the elements graphically.
- Enter all the appropriate Candidate Seeding Elements element symbology. These are the elements that you want the software to consider for seeding. These would be cut and fill slopes, foreslopes, ditchslopes etc...not top of pavement
- The Maximum Allowable Slope is just what it says. If the steepest metric slope to seed is a 2:1, (English 1/2:1) then key in a Rise:Run slope of 2:1.
Normally a 2:1 (Metric) would not be seeded, so a 1.33:1 (English 3/4:1) might be keyed in, as shown.
- The Subtal Split Slope will split the area quantities based on the provided slope. For example, if the specified Subtal Split Slope is 1:6 then the area quantities will be split into areas steeper than a 1:6 slope and areas equal to or flatter than a 1:6 slope. This might be handy for splitting two seeding methods from each other, such as hydroseeding and drilling.
- Adjust and set the desirable increment and subtotal settings for your notes.
Click on ByPass Segments to invoke that dialog box:
This option was created for skipping candidate seeding elements. The application begins at the catch point and works toward centerline. In the dialog box above...lets just look at cuts on the left. The software starts at the left catch...and counts the number of segments from there towards centerline. If say... it finds 5 candidate seeding elements, it will skip the two closest to the catch and only seed the three closest to centerline. This is an application that we normally don't use.
Click on Additional DistanceVia Station to invoke that dialog box:
This option is used for calculating additional seeding required by station ranges. For calculating additional "generic" seeding required as per your typical section, use the Additional Distance option as mentioned below.
Click on Additional Distance to invoke that dialog box:
This option is used for calculating additional "generic" seeding required as per your typical section. For specific areas of additional seeding, use the Additional Distance Via Station option as mentioned above.
Back at the Seeding Report Dialog box, click on File and select the path and file name for your Clearing notes.
I recommend that you toggle the Pause on Each XS option to ON.
When finished... Click Apply.
