TO "DRIVE THROUGH" (Existing Ground)
FIRST OF ALL YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
- Some type of 3D model, either a 3D triangle file or 3D B-spline model.
- The Existing Ground Profile created and stored in COGO.
Open the 3D file and...
- Select View Attributes using the MicroStation pulldowns, Settings
> View Attributes:
- Toggle the "Camera" option ON.
Invoke the Drive Through Window using the pulldowns or icon
as shown below:
Using the MicroStation pulldowns:
APPLICATIONS > GEOPAK ROAD > 3D TOOLS > DRIVE THROUGH
Using the icon:

Either way brings up the "Geopak Drive Through" window.
- Complete the dialog box fields. Step Increment is the
increment (in master units, i.e.., feet or meters) to "step through" the 3D
model. Target Offset, is how far down the road you want to view.
To look backward in the model, simply key in a negative number here.
- If you simply want to start at the beginning...press Locate Starting
Point.
- To look left or right, move the "slide bar" at the bottom of the dialog
box left or right, or simply key in the angle to view in the field at the
bottom left portion of the dialog box.
- When complete press APPLY
